Clay Figurines, Russia; Handmade Clay Craft with Folk Motifs

In the 15th century, the Dymkovo Settlement near the city of Kirov became an earthenware toy making center.  The Russian craftsmen used a red clay and river sand mixture to create the most beautiful toys.  The handmade Dymkovo Toys are an old Russian folk-art handicraft depicting traditional Russian culture.  The figurines of animals and people are painted in many bright colors and themes.  Our featured Dymkovo Figurines include a well-dressed noble lady and a stylishly ornamented turkey.  Set: 1 lady figurine (height 5 inches, width 3 inches) and 1 turkey figurine (height 4 1/2 inches, width 4 inches).
