In ancient Russia, dolls had an artistic value and were crafted for mystical beliefs.  The tradition of making dolls is widespread in Russia and encompasses decorative dolls, children’s toys and exquisite porcelain dolls.  Russian dolls are often created with porcelain pieces, dressed in traditional folklore or high-society costumes and sport ornamented headwear.  Our featured Russian doll is handcrafted by the Russian artist, Varvara Zhdaniva.  Our selected doll has porcelain head, hands and feet, and is dressed in a fashionable costume with a stylish hat.  Our Russian doll may be presented on a shelf or hung on a wall.  Measures: Russian doll (17 inches tall).
