We arrive at the quaint town of Jackson Hole, situated in a picturesque valley and enveloped by snow-capped mountains. An overnight snowfall causes some road closures for a few hours, but we are amply rewarded with the breathtaking winter scenery. The alpine terrain attracts diverse wildlife, offering a chance to see a herd of elk, an impressive moose, bald eagles and many other species of animals. The Yellowstone National Park was founded in 1872 and is the very first park of the United States. It is largely situated in Wyoming, with territories in Montana and Idaho. The Yellowstone is a pristine ecosystem consisting of spectacular landscapes and diverse wildlife. Traversing the park, we discover magnificent lakes, mountain ranges, waterfalls, hot springs and active geysers. The beautiful Yellowstone Lake is the largest high elevation lake in North America. The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone presents a spectacular sight of the Yellowstone River with the multi-colored canyon walls. The Old Faithful Geyser, one of over 500 geysers in the park, attracts many visitors. There is a volcanic activity beneath the surface and a predictable schedule of eruption of the geyser. The West Thumb Geyser Basin is a collection of hot springs, including the Black Pool and the Abyss Pool. A boardwalk around the basin enables a closer view of the unique terrain. The Yellowstone National Park is a paradise for hikers, with beautiful places to explore, including the Lamar and Hayden Valleys, the Upper Geyser Basin, the Norris Geyser Basin and many more.

A wide range of wildlife resides in the parks, including bison, bears, elk, moose, wolves and bighorn sheep. Thousands of wild bison reside in the Yellowstone, roaming across the meadows and feeding on grasses and leafy plants. The American Bison, the largest mammal in North America, is a massive creature, a fast runner and swimmer. As we drive through the park, we observe bisons walking in the middle of the road. The Yellowstone is inhabited by black bears and grizzly bears. The black bears are native to North America and the grizzly bears or brown bears originated in Siberia, Russia. At the edge of sparsely forested area, we observe a brown bear digging in the ground in search of food. Herds of elk reside in the Grand Teton National Park and the Yellowstone. During our visit to the Grand Teton National Park, a subtle mist covers the meadows and the forest. We notice a herd of elk at the edge of the forest, slowly moving across the meadows. The scent of nature is divine and the silence sharpens the mind. Every corner of this vast wilderness is an unspoiled natural habitat for a magnificent wildlife.
