Antarctica is a pristine, wild and extreme habitat for wildlife. It is inhabited by large colonies of penguins, seals and whales. The penguins’ tightly packed feathers act as an insulation against the cold weather. Adélie penguins are fast swimmers and deep divers. As our cruise ship reaches Devil Island, we observe a colony of 10,000 Adélie penguins, residing on the island. Adélie penguins create their nests with pebbles, carrying stones in their beaks. We spend hours observing and photographing these fascinating creatures in their natural habitat.
