Antarctica is located in the Southern Hemisphere in the Antarctic Region. The Antarctic Peninsula is a long mountain chain in the northern part of Antarctica. During the Antarctic Summer, we enjoy an expedition cruise to the Antarctic Peninsula. We explore isolated islands and peaceful bays inhabited by large colonies of penguins. Half Moon Island is a natural habitat for over 4,000 pairs of breeding Chinstrap penguins. They are distinguished by the black back, white front and thin black line under the chin. Chinstrap Penguins are a fascinating species of penguin, extremely resilient, communicative and very protective of their nests.
